Getting a new roof installed can add significant value to your home, and add a fresh look to your property as well. While it will be some time before your roof starts to show any serious signs of wear and tear, it's still important to keep an eye on the situation. Here are 3 reasons why you may want to consider hiring a contractor that offers professional roofing services to clean your roof on a regular basis, even if you just got it installed.
Failing to Clean Could Void Your Warranty
Most new roofs come with a warranty from the manufacturer that could easily cover you for a couple of decades or longer. But always be sure to read the fine print on your roofing warranty. Most of these warranties include a clause that states that the homeowner is expected to keep up with regular maintenance in order for the warranty to remain in effect. If your roof suffers damage and the roofing company determines that the damage was caused due to negligence by the homeowner, this could void your warranty claim. Regular cleaning will remove any grime or moss build up that could cause more significant damage to your roof over time.
Many Cleaning Chemicals Actually Provide Extra Protection
Talk to your roofing contractor about what kind of chemicals he or she is using to clean your roof. Many of the cleaners available today have special chemicals in them that will help keep your roof from developing moss or other problems over the next 12 to 18 months. Getting your roof professionally cleaned will not just keep it looking great – it could also decrease the chances of a major problem happening. Just be sure that whatever chemicals are in the cleaner will not damage your roofing materials.
Maintain Your Home's Value
Installing a new roof can dramatically increase your home's value, especially if the roof was installed as part of a larger project that allowed you to also add better insulation to the top of your house. But if you don't maintain your roof with regular cleaning, that major gain in value could slowly depreciate. A regular cleaning will keep your roof looking as polished as it was the day it was installed.
Getting a new roof installed is a great way to add value to your home and could be an opportunity to save money on your energy costs. But make sure you get your roof cleaned by professionals like US Roofing on a regular basis to maintain the gains that you have made. Failing to clean your roof could void your warranty and cause your home to depreciate in value. Regular cleanings could also provide extra protection from things like moss due to the chemicals in most roof cleaning products.Share

When I was in college, I lived in an old house just south of the university campus with five other girls. When we came back from Christmas break, the heater was broken. The beginning of January was the coldest time of the year, and because it was the weekend, the heating company couldn't come fix it for a few days. My roommates and I pulled our mattresses into the front room and slept all together to keep warm. Two weeks later, our heater broke again! That time we ended up getting a completely new furnace. Needless to say, we got to be good friends with the heating contractor that month, and it was a good experience that led to the creation of this blog.
